Customized Ford Econoline 350 4WD Diesel Van, $7800
Hi, We are selling our customized diesel 4wd van: We are the second owners, bought it in California from someone who outfitted it for skiing and boating trips. It is a 1985 econoline (with the standard body – not the extended version). We are selling it simply because we don’t use it enough. We are asking $7800.
We have posted some pics here – there are others you can see by clicking on the “more posts” link in the bottom right corner at the end of each page. The pictures cover outside body at all angles, interior and the engine as well as vin number tag.
It has:
183,000 miles, with it’s 6.9 liter engine replaced at 50K, (approximately 130K on new engine) Previous owner said that there was some defect that led to the engine being replaced and completely covered by Ford
Automatic transmission with Gear Vendors overdrive, cruises well on the freeway
4WD capacity, with lifted body for off road use (though van had limited off road miles)
2 diesel tanks with capacity for switching over mid drive, would be great for veggie oil conversion
2 brand new deep cycle batteries
winterized interior with insulated panels, propane heater, captains chair front seats, fold out rear seats (sleepable for a single person, or for 2 smaller people), refrigerator, custom lighting, RV battery, 20 gallon integrated water storage tank
swing out tire carrier with spare tire
custom rear bumper with warn winch
roof rack with lift for car top aluminum boat
racks installed in rear of van for hanging outboard, storage of various gear
**Van is currently configured for shorter drivers - making it a bit tight for those over 5'8". Drivers seat has refrigerator set immediately behind it restricting seat movement for taller persons. Recommend if you are a taller driver that you will likely need to remove or move fridge in order to drive comfortably on longer trips.**
Known issues that need attention or should be considered before purchase:
Electrical system currently has drain when parked. When we park the van we take the battery cables off and reattach when we want to start it up. As a first effort we had disconnected the auxiliary and rear system, winch, interior cabin lights, etc. (which are still disconnected) but found that the drain continued. We have a friend with the same model van and he has stated that his van had the same problem and he installed a battery isolator so that the batteries are not drained upon parking. This is a relatively small and inexpensive fix - $50 -100 if you do it yourself, $200 or so if you have a shop install it.
Drivers seat has rip – probably needs seat cover
Electric winch on boat/roof rack needs solenoid – we have never used it, previous owner mentioned that it was out at time of sale
Door panel bottoms frayed, may need new upholstery
Propane heater/fridge are not currently hooked up
Rust on rear bumper needs attention.
Stereo has horrible sound and needs to be replaced or seriously overhauled
Please note van is sold “as is” with no warranties/guarantees expressed or implied
We have tried to be as detailed as possible in this listing as we want to save time in regards to questions/answers for all interested (and us). The other reason is that the van is located on an island which is going to be a trip for many people. We are located on Orcas Island which is a half day trip from Seattle – 1 ½ hours drive to Anacortes, then board a ferry for another 1 ½ ride, then approximately 35 minute drive to our home.
If you are serious about your interest in the van AND you have the cash on hand (we won’t offer owner financing, payment plans, etc.) then please contact us at
Diesel4wdvanforsale@yahoo.com and leave your number and a good time to call and we will contact you. It may be a few days as we have a busy weekend but we will respond to everyone.
NO Scammers need apply, don’t waste your time.
